Droomo (/drōmō/) which means Grace in Ga, one of Ghana’s local languages is a suitable name for this organization as it encapsulates our deeply-seated aspirations – to pass along the grace that we have received and will continue to receive.
This organization was born out of a dream to see hope re-ignited in the hearts of the underprivileged and will not stop until we fulfill this calling…
Our Approach
We solicit, fundraise and donate
- We write grant proposals: We write solicited proposals to institutions that provide grants to non-profits. These organizations include governments, for-profit organizations and some bigger non-profits
- We do some fundraising activities: We occasionally organize events where we fundraise
- We solicit: Our team in collaboration with our partners solicit for medical, agricultural and educational supplies from institutions that are seeking to donate unused equipment or supplies.
We donate everything we get. This organization is run by a team of passionate volunteers. As a result, none of the proceeds go to administrative costs

Kwabena A Amponsah
FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
Kwabena holds an MSc with a focus on International Development from Andrews University. He currently works as a Funding Assistant for Dialysis Clinic Inc in Nashville, TN. Before his current role, spent years at organizations such as Hands on Nashville and Youth Development Commission in Ghana. He did an internship with ADRA, Nicaragua. He has always worked in program management and coordination at organizations like McGraw Hill. Mr Addison-Amponsah started this organization after being involved in a trip to Ghana to donate dialysis machines to the Ghana Police Hospital. He saw the need in these under-resourced settings and resolved to make a difference. He brings with him over a decade of experience in management.
Ebenezer A Armah

Ebenezer began his journey in the United States at Fisk University where he double-majored in Computer Science and Mathematics. After Fisk University, his passion to use technology to improve healthcare delivery led him to Johns Hopkins University where he got a Masters in Biomedical Engineering. He currently works as an Engineer in the Digital Healthcare Tech space and loves to use his engineering skills to improve lives around the world. Prior to moving to the US, Ebenezer served as a 4th – 6th grade Math and Science teacher where he interacted daily with brilliant students who could have reached a much higher level had they been given opportunities. It is his dream to see the world that Droomo Inc seeks to create
Edward Akosah Danso

Akosah is a medical doctor and is currently affiliated with the Obstetrics and Gynecology department of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital. He graduated as valedictorian from the University of Cape Coast, School of Medical Sciences. As Vice President and President of the Medical Students’ Association, he organized a number of outreach programs including health screening exercises for people of the university community and the inhabitants of the Cape Coast metropolis. Akosah wants to specialize in General Surgery and has particular interest in transplant surgery and its impact on increasing life expectancies among patients living with end stage organ failures in his home country, Ghana. He is the founder and President of the NAD foundation, a non profit company which aims to build the human capacity and technical ability of young people in Ghana and collaborate with other young people in Africa for the betterment of the continent. He is a father and loves spending quality time with his daughter.
Catherine Azaglo
Treasurer
Catherine Azaglo is a certified tax preparer and bookkeeper after taking specialized classes at the Universal Accounting Center. She holds an associate degree from Nashville State Community College and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. Her major area of focus was accounting. Mrs. Azaglo is a Senior Staff Accountant with RSG. She is also the owner of Unique Tax & Accounting Services LLC, an accounting firm that specializes in Income Tax filing and Bookkeeping. Catherine is currently the treasurer for Ghana Association of Middle Tennessee. She has a passion to serve her community and to contribute in meaningful ways to ensure that people are lifted out of poverty.

Benjamin Acheampong
md, mph, facc - board member
Benjamin is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and Medical Center. He obtained his medical degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, School of Medical Sciences. His love for taking care of children led him to pursue a postgraduate medical degree with the West African College of Physicians and the Ghana college of Physicians and Surgeons in pediatrics. He worked as a pediatrician at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Ghana before undertaking further training at the Mayo Clinic, MN in pediatric and adolescent medicine residency and then a fellowship and advanced cardiac imaging fellowship from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and a Masters in Public Health, Vanderbilt University, USA. He is a highly experienced physician with tremendous international exposure in clinical and public health medicine. Dr. Acheampong is highly interested in academic and private medical practice and the deploying of skilled clinical services to rural areas through leveraging of technology. He leads global health trips multiple times a year.
Doris Dodoo

Doris holds an MBA and is currently a senior associate claims examiner with AIG. Before joining the board, Ms Dodoo served as a president of the Ghanaian Association of Middle Tennessee (GAMT) from 2020-2021 and held various positions through the association prior to that. She brings with her years of experience in planning and leading volunteer activities. She has led efforts to clean the highways of Tennessee and strives to help the underprivileged at every chance she gets. During her tenure, she led the GAMT to donate medical equipment to a Police Hospital in Ghana. She regularly organizes school supply drives to assist students and parents who are struggling financially in Nashville TN. She also organizes events to raise awareness of the importance of giving back to our local communities here in the US and supports efforts to give back to her home country Ghana
Frederick Opuni-Mensah

For the past 20 years, Fred has been working in International Development, implementing projects for vulnerable people in rural and urban cities to refugee camps, including emergencies in Eastern Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and East and Central Africa. At ADRA, he is responsible for the USAID-funded project in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan, India and Kenya. Prior to ADRA International, he spent more than a decade with relief organizations such as the Red Cross, UMCOR and TCP Microfinance, and Fanne Mae. Fred holds a MSc in international development from Andrew University.
Mark Owusu
MD, MPH - BOARD MEMBER
Mark is an attending physician in Internal Medicine and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in Tennessee and Kentucky, including Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Baptist Health System, and Tristar Hospitals such as Summit in the Nashville Area. He received his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine and completed residency and internship in internal medicine at the University of South Alabama. Additionally, he received an MPH at Florida International University in Miami. With over 8 years of experience in the field, Dr. Owusu is certified and licensed by both the Tennessee Department of Health and Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. He is also listed as an author in 7 research publications. Dr. Owusu maintains a membership with the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). As an internist, Dr. Owusu applies scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults including ICU patients. He is also very passionate about giving back to his community and has been involved in multiple international medical mission trips in India, Africa and currently provides free medical care to the uninsured at St Luke Clinic.
